Redding’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning – Providing Home Comfort for Generations

For almost a century, our family’s number one concern has been for the comfort and care of our community. When J.B. Redding, Senior and Joseph J. Redding his son founded J.B. Redding & Son in 1920 and devoted themselves to serving Princeton University’s heating needs, they knew that he wanted to build a legacy – a lasting tradition of quality and service upheld by his family for generations to come.

Today, fourth and fifth generations of the Redding family do just that. Over the years we’ve changed a bit. Our customers call our residential division Redding’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning and our commercial area Redding’s Mechanical now – we’ve earned their trust and feel like family. And while we got our start in a modest barn on Linden Lane in Princeton, in 1945 we moved to a central location in the heart of Mercer County. Since then, we’ve watched our community grow around us. And we’ve grown with it. We’re continually upgrading our knowledge and expertise to expand our services and remain at the leading edge of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industries, as well as environmental stewardship. Plus, our central location and supply house for parts helps us provide fast, reliable service to our customers. What has not changed through the years – and never will – is our commitment to quality.

After completing his business degree, President, Michael D. Redding joined the company full time in 1993. He continued his education, obtaining his Master Plumber license and Inspector license.  After years of running the residential and light commercial division, Redding’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, he assumed the role of President in 2013.

Vice President Laura Redding, after completing her business degree joined the company full time in 1990.  She has obtained LEED certification and assumed the VP role in 2013.  She continues to assure the comfort and wellbeing of students, faculty and employees of Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton University, Princeton Plasma Physics and surrounding institutions and businesses through Redding’s Mechanical, our commercial division.

Our business would not retain its excellent reputation without our first-class team, including professional service technicians and knowledgeable sales and office staff, who work diligently to ensure 100% satisfaction for each and every residential customer and commercial client. We’re proud to have many employees who have been with the company for decades and are just like family!
